If someone spent eight years rolling their eyes at "Obama's coming to take your guns," but are screaming about cattle cars and camps now that trump is president elect, there's a problem.
- Either a president has no power to enact such things, in which case they've been duped by a con that their political opponents fell for for years, making them even more gullible than said opponents.
- Or, a president does have the power to do such things, in which case they spent the better part of a decade sneering at those who feared such things, only bothering to care now that it's affecting them as deeply. Making them assholes.
Neither option engenders sympathy across the aisle.
